Town Hall is almost ready to relocate to the old Blue Ridge space in Glover Park (at 2340 Wisconsin Ave. NW), and customers will get their first look at the new digs at an open-bar New Year’s Eve party.
Its new home -- one block north of Town Hall’s current restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue -- has been undergoing extensive renovations, as documented on photos on Town Hall’s Facebook page. Owner Paul Holder has ambitious plans for the new space, including breakfasts in the huge backyard courtyard, and combining some of the small rooms upstairs into larger spaces. An expanded menu is also in the offing, thanks to the new building’s sizeable kitchen.
The New Year’s Eve celebration, a $110-per-ticket affair with a top-shelf open bar from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., includes a gourmet buffet and dancing to a DJ. The courtyard will be heated and tented, and there will also be a firepit. (Tickets are currently on sale at townhalldc.eventbrite.com.)
But don’t show up looking for brunch at the new Town Hall on Jan. 2: Holder says the new space won’t open for daily service until mid-January.
In the meantime, you can keep going to the current Town Hall, which will host a farewell party and close once the new space is up and running. Holder says another restaurant will lease the building Town Hall is vacating.
