Try Dogfish Head’s new collaboration beer, L’Interimaire, Wednesday at ChurchKey

D.C.’s flurry of seasonal beer events continues this week. And while we’re excited about the Secret Stash Party with 50 out-of-market beers being tasted at Scion, He’Brew’s Chanukah celebration and DC Brau’s 19-tap Holiday Party, no event has bigger buzz than Wednesday’s unveiling of L’Interimaire, a collaboration beer from Dogfish Head and Bluejacket, at ChurchKey.

D.C.’s best holiday beer events

Bluejacket is a forthcoming brewpub from the owners of ChurchKey, and is expected to open near the Navy Yard in 2013. In the meantime, brewer Megan Parisi has been crafting beer at breweries from coast to coast. L’Interimaire is a Belgian saison made with French Aramis hops, two varieties of honey and verjus rouge, or juice from unripened grapes. Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione — one of the best-known characters in the craft beer world — will be on hand for the debut, so arrive early. Ten Dogfish Head beers and two other Bluejacket collaborations will be on tap for the night.

There are some fun events for charity happening this week, too. ChurchKey taps 50 holiday beers tonight and will give you 10 percent off if you make a donation to Martha’s Table. On Thursday, Pizzeria Paradiso will trade you a can of microbrewed beer for every can of food you bring to donate to Martha’s Table. Tuesday finds the Bruery visiting the Bier Baron and bringing along some very rare beers to give away. Bring a new toy or make a $10 donation to the Children’s National Medical Center to enter.
