There is no word yet on the acts that will fill the two main stages and Dance Forest, but you should join me in putting on your predicting cap and score some tickets to the concert. A press release explains why:
“Twitter Fans who follow Virgin Mobile Live (@virginmlive), Virgin’s culture and music feed, can be a part of the 2012 Virgin Mobile FreeFest line-up announcement by guessing which bands have been selected to appear at the festival. To enter, participants will need to follow @virginmlive on Twitter, add the official festival hashtag #FreeFest, and include their guess of which band will appear on the bill (also using a hashtag). Random winners will be contacted with further instructions to announce the lineup. Naturally, fans featured in the announcement video will also win VIP tickets to the FreeFest.”
As a refresher, here are my two prognosticating posts. Now that we know the date is Oct. 6 — the latest the festival has ever been held — it might be time to study some more and offer one final batch of lineup guesses.
Update: A date is nice. But the main thing everybody wants to know is WHO IS PLAYING?! I decided to look back at the bands I’ve predicted to see what their availability looks like on Oct. 6.
