In a reversal of last week’s standing, the Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds spy thriller “Safe House”edged past “The Vow”to lead the weekend box office. It was a tight race all around: the top five moneymaking movies of the long weekend came in very close together. The top 10 movies in the weekend box office are:
1. Safe House $24 million
2. The Vow $23.6 million
3. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance $22 million
4. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island $20.1 million
5. This Means War $17.6 million
6. Star Wars:Episode I — The Phantom Menace 3D $7.9 million
7. Chronicle $7.5 million
8. The Woman in Black $6.6 million
9. The Secret World of Arriety $6.4 million
10. The Grey $3.0 million
