What’s on your D.C. wish list?

A museum with amazing architecture, like the Guggenheim in New York or Bilbao, is on our D.C. wish list. What’s on yours? (Copyright © The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, NY)
In the cover story for Friday’s Weekend section, six local media types share their tips for D.C.’s greatest hits — and what it’s missing. For example, they want the Pancakes and Booze Art show to come to town, an ice bar and New Orleans-style street bands. They want a bagel and lox food truck, Philadelphia-style soft pretzels and a place that serves the egg pastry khachapuri.

It’s a great question, and it got the Gurus thinking about our own wish list. If you could add one thing to D.C., what would it be? We vote for a:

A Guggenheim-style museum

Place for good Mexican food

Public park that welcomes skateboarders

Real art gallery neighborhood

Beach 15 minutes away

Sports team that wins a major championship

New York-style Jewish deli

3,500-seat venue that’s actually built to host concerts

Yeah, we’re going blue sky here. But wouldn’t it be great? Keep adding to this list in the comments or with #dcwishlist . And maybe, just maybe, some entrepreneurs out there are listening who can turn your dreams into a reality.
