Where to eat and drink on Black Friday

So many people have today off that it feels like a weekend morning in downtown D.C. It’s not a coincidence that many restaurants and bars are opening early, serving special brunch menus or early happy hours. If you’ve got the day off – or you’re cutting out of the office early – here are a few suggestions for where to fuel up.

201 Bar : Open for the 11 a.m. Nebraska-Iowa football game, and serving a full brunch buffet.

Bandolero : Brunch from noon to 4 p.m., with bottomless cocktails for $19, or drinks for $8 each.

Belga Cafe : Brunch menu until 4 p.m.

The Black Squirrel : Open at noon.

Boqueria : Brunch from 11:30 to 2:30, with the restaurant’s usual weekend deal: $35 for unlimited tapas and drinks.

Eatonville : Brunch until 3 p.m.

Firefly : Brunch until 2 p.m. with $2 bloody marys and mimosas.

The Pug : Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by happy hour.

Room 11 : Lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the recently-expanded Columbia Heights hangout.

And while they’re not one-time deals, if you haven’t checked the new lunch menus at Granville Moore’s or all three branches of Hank’s Oyster Bar, this is the perfect day to do so.
