Hank’s on the Hill suffers minor damage in early morning fire; will reopen in a few days

NBC Washington has a scary image of flames shooting out of the roof of Hank's on the Hill last night around 2 a.m. Firefighters were able to contain the flames, but Hank's will be closed for the next few days for repairs.

Chef Jamie Leeds said that she is away in San Francisco for a conference, and she got a call about the fire late last night. Being far from the restaurant made her even more concerned.

"It was just on the roof of the building and it was a small shed that caught fire. Minor damage." she said. Though initial reports said that one person sustained minor injuries, Leeds said that no one was hurt. She's still not sure what caused the fire.

Concerned oyster lovers will have to wait until the electricity and HVAC are back on in the building until it can reopen again. "Everything's fine," said Leeds. "We should be up and running in a few days."
