2013 Capital Pride events, more than just a parade

The best-known events of Capital Pride are the June 8 parade through Dupont and Logan circles and the street festival on Pennsylvania Avenue NW on June 9. But Pride, which officially kicks off today, is also full of smaller happenings, from burlesque to stand-up comedy to dance parties, which show many sides of the local LGBT community. In our list of the area's best Pride events, you'll find packed happy hours and DJ nights that run until the sun comes up, but we've also focused on smaller, more independent events that give this week its flavor.
