It has been just more than a week since a four-alarm fire destroyed Frager's Hardware. The beloved Capitol Hill institution is slowly getting back on its feet: An outdoor garden center is now open across the street from Eastern Market, and neighbors are pitching in to help.

Tonight, the Tabula Rasa event space at 731 Eighth St. SE hosts a fundraiser to benefit Frager's employees and neighboring businesses. The happy hour runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and features food from Cava Mezze and Zest restaurants. Schneider's of Capitol Hill, Fine Vine and DCanter will donate wine and beer, local flower shop Highway to Hill will supply decorations and Occasions Caterers will provide bartenders.

Tickets, which can be purchased online, range from $30 to $100, depending on the level of donation you'd like to make. There will also be a raffle, with prizes supplied by neighborhood businesses. All proceeds will be donated to the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, which is coordinating fundraising efforts for Frager's.
