Free whiskey and food tonight at Bourbon’s anniversary party

Ten years ago, Bourbon came to Glover Park. Bill Thomas, the owner of the Blue Room lounge in Adams Morgan, and his partners created a neighborhood bar focused on American whiskey (with a head-spinning 50 different kinds) and American comfort food. The formula proved so successful that the Blue Room eventually became a second branch of Bourbon, paving the way for the epic lists of bourbon available at Jack Rose Dining Saloon.

The original Bourbon, though, remains a fixture on Wisconsin Avenue. And since a decade in business is a great excuse for a party, the bar is hosting a customer appreciation celebration tonight. From 7 to 11 p.m., bartenders will pour free whiskey and free craft beer, while the staff passes free hors d'oeuvres. (Obviously, not every drink in the house will be free, and the food will be more like snacks than a full meal. We're told the free bourbon will include Maker's Mark and at least one kind of Wild Turkey, while beers come from Flying Dog, New Belgium and Goose Island. Make sure you ask about which whiskeys are complementary before asking for a glass of, say, Parker's Heritage and getting sticker shock when the bill arrives.)
