Celebrate National Hot Dog Day with these local franks

New York and Chicago usually share top billing as America's hot dog capitals, but D.C. has a claim to make as well. We're Half-Smoke City, after all, and half-smokes are just spicy hot dogs. (Though most definitely not sandwiches.) But the chili-slathered half-smoke is no longer the totality of our city's encased-meat empire, and National Hot Dog Day is a good time to round-up some of our favorite variants.
