DC Beer Week: Where to drink on Wednesday

Tonight's theme is "Blue Crabs." DC Brau is taking over Arlington's Quarterdeck crab house, where $50 gets you all-you-can-eat crabs and dirt cheap beers: $1 pints and $3 pitchers. The Black Squirrel is hosting a Maryland Crab and Beer Fest, with beers from 10 Free State Breweries, including Stillwater, Brewer's Art and Evolution. The brewers from Burley Oak, Monocacy, Oliver Ales and Union Brewing will be on hand to talk about their beers. The kitchen will serve up a traditional crab boil and crab cakes.

Maine's breweries have been earning increasing acclaim in recent years. Find out why at Meridian Pint, where beers from Allagash, Oxbow, Rising Tide, Maine Beer Co. and Bunker will fill the 24 taps.

You probably don't think about beer when you think about Quebec. ChurchKey will try to change that with An Evening of Quebecois Craft: 23 beers from Dieu du Ciel, Le Trou du Diable, Les Trois Mousquetaires and Dunham.

Many beer events feature beers from one state or geographic region. R.F.D. is bucking that at their Coast to Coast Tap Takeover, which features 45 drafts from all over America. Here's the clincher: Beers are $5 all night, and the $5 cover charge goes directly to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Beer dinners? Who needs multiple courses when you can just pair beer and dried meat? D.C.'s own Jerkface Artisinal Beef Jerky will pair spicy jerky – including kimchi and mumbo flavors – with rare 3 Stars beers at the Big Hunt.

On H Street, Flying Dog will offer an unbeatable deal at the Argonaut: $25 for all-you-can-eat tacos and all-you-can-drink beer from 7 to 10 p.m.
