Trillectro, the D.C.-born festival that cross-pollinated electronic dance music and rap into one uniquely sweaty, twerky day of music at the Fairgrounds last summer, returns Saturday for its second year. This time around, Wale, Nadastrom, Tittsworth and many other acts with local roots and rising capital on the national scene are front and center. Tickets ($49) are still available for tomorrow's show, but they're going fast.
Here's what you should know:
Wale is the special guest, but the artist to watch is Phil Ade.
The local rapper who was once pegged to be the heir-apparent to Wale seemed to have dropped off the radar, but he's back with new material after a three-year hiatus. Read Aaron Leitko's profile of the re-incarnated Phil Ade in today's Weekend section.
While you're at it, we think you should watch Misun too.
Joel Madden (of Good Charlotte, and, you know, Nicole Richie's man) thinks you should go.
