Ben’s Chili Bowl expanding to former Ray’s Hell Burger site

September 9, 2013

One D.C.-area culinary institution is being replaced with another: Ben's Chili Bowl has signed a lease to take over the original Ray's Hell Burger spot at 1725 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn. The Washington Business Journal reports that Ben's in Rosslyn is aiming for an early 2014 opening, beating its other new location on H Street NE to the punch.

It's good news for those in Rosslyn who are looking for some late-night grub from the famous eatery that has served President Obama and Bill Cosby, among other famous faces. (Obama ate at Ray's, too.) It's easier to find parking in Rosslyn, and co-owner Nizam Ali said that the addition is part of the plan to make Ben's more accessible. Like the other Ben's locations at FedEx Field and Nationals Park, it may not have the history of the U Street original, but it will definitely have the chili fries.
