Union Market will add Tuesday hours beginning Nov. 12

You'll soon be able to shop for cocktail bitters, snack on smoked tofu and slurp oysters at Union Market six days a week. The market, where vendors include the Co Co. Sala chocolatier, Salt & Sundry boutique, the Buffalo & Bergen soda shop, Neopol Savory Smokery and Peregrine Espresso, among others, will add Tuesday hours beginning Nov. 12. It's currently open Wednesday through Sunday.

The market is also preparing for the arrival of a bigger restaurant concept, not unlike the Rappahannock Oyster Bar. Edens, which operates Union Market, tweeted this week that the American concept from Chef  John Mooney (of New York's Bell Book & Candle), announced a year ago, will open soon. Till then, you can make do with a nice warm bowl of ramen, which will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday courtesy of a pop-up from Toki Underground that will run through Nov. 3. The restaurant's pop up has counter seating and is only taking cash for its $12 shoyu ramen with Chinese red pork.
