Celebrate 40 years of “The Exorcist” in Georgetown tonight

October 31, 2013

Forty years ago, the iconic horror film "The Exorcist" scared everyone silly and made a set of stairs in Georgetown famous. Adapted from William Peter Blatty's 1971 novel of the same name, "The Exorcist" was the first horror film to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and continues to be an American classic.

Want to relive the terror on the big screen? AMC Georgetown is screening the film through Nov. 7. Even better, Blatty — the film's producer and screenwriter — will hold a Q&A following tonight's 7:30 p.m. showing. Find tickets here.
