Tickets for Arcade Fire’s Verizon Center show on sale Friday

November 19, 2013

Tickets for Arcade Fire's nearly 30-date Reflektor tour go on sale Friday morning, but if you're planning to catch the band's bombastic Quebecois theatrics at Verizon Center, prepare to wait the exact amount of time it takes to gestate a baby. The band won't roll into D.C. until Aug. 17, which is nine months from now. By then, the band's polarizing fourth full-length album, "Reflektor" will be nearly a year old.

Before you buy, you might also want to take a look at the fine print: The band's obnoxious request that fans don suits, fancy dresses or costumes to its early Reflektor shows is carrying over to the arena shows. Slate notes that the Ticketmaster site includes the request that attendees don formal attire -- a pretty stark contradiction with Win Butler's of-the-people lyrics, but then, he's also taken to wearing a gold blazer. Tickets, which will range from $50.50-$70.50, go on general sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, but pre-sales continue through this week.
