Want to submit your upcoming event to the Going Out Guide? The process has changed.

January 2, 2013

Want to publicize your concert, festival or event in the Weekend section and Going Out Guide? Then you should know that we have changed the way we accept event listings.

Organizations with fewer than 20 events a year must fill out the form at washingtonpost.com/gog/talk-to-us.html. Groups that have 20 or more events a year must contact Listings Editor Amy Orndorff (amy.orndorff@washpost.com) for access to a new, frequent-user database. Submitted events will be considered for both the Weekend section and the online Going Out Guide. We no longer accept press releases by e-mail.

The same deadlines apply. Events are published the Friday before the event occurs, and we must have the information at least 10 days before that publication date. For example, an event that starts Wednesday, Jan. 22, would run in the Friday, Jan. 17, Weekend section and would need to be submitted by Jan. 7.

If your event already has been submitted to weekendlistings@washpost.com, you do not need to resubmit the listing.
