DGS Delicatessen celebrates Christmas Eve with Chinese food

In our cover story last week, we provided a list of Asian restaurants that would be open on Christmas for a traditional Jewish celebration of the holiday: Chinese food and a movie. Here's one for Dec. 24: On Christmas Eve, DGS Delicatessen will cheekily swap Jewish-style cooking the way your bubbe makes it for a Chinese/Jewish fusion menu. For $37, with an optional $18 beverage pairing, you'll get a three-course dinner:

First Course Reuben Egg Roll with Spicy Russian Dipping Sauce and Egg Drop Matzo Ball Soup

Second Course Kung Pao Chicken Livers with Celery and Peanuts and Pastrami Lo Mein

Third Course Confit "Peking" Duck with Traditional Garnishes and Kasha Fried Rice

Make reservations by calling 202-293-4400. Be sure to time it so you can make it over to the West End Cinema for a 9:30 p.m. showing of "Gravity."
