This thing you should try: Right Proper’s ‘Chick Filet’ sandwich

So maybe you're a big fan of delicious fried chicken sandwiches with pickles, but don't particularly care for the politics of the company known for them? Or maybe you're all too happy to leave politics out of your meals but don't feel like waiting for that Chik-fil-A food truck to make its rounds to your neighborhood? What's a guy or gal to do?

Right Proper Brewing Company has been winning fans over with its unique beer program and its take on Chik-fil-A's classic sandwich, which one server said has been among the most popular items on the menu since the bar and restaurant's late-2013 opening.

It's an admirably deft mimic of the fast-food classic: seasoned and fried white meat on a brioche bun with pickles and the addition of Boursin cheese ($8). Sorry, no waffle fries on the side -- it comes with a side salad instead -- but an appropriate substitute might be the homemade kettle chips with a briny pickle dip ($4).

Right now, it's on the menu as the "Southern Fried Chick Filet" sandwich, but if Chick-fil-A corporate gets wind of that, who knows: Chick-fil-A has been embroiled in a legal dispute with a guy who makes "Eat More Kale" T-shirts for years.

Perhaps most importantly: Unlike at Chik-fil-A, you can order it with a beer.
