Bowling and bocce are not the only reasons to head to the expansive Pinstripes in Georgetown. The new entertainment complex also has one of the best happy hours in the neighborhood.
From 3 to 7 p.m. on weekdays and again from 9 p.m. to close, all draft beers are $3, all house wines are $4 and all “premium” mixed drinks are $5. On the beer front, the six predominantly local choices include Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA, DC Brau’s Citizen Belgian Pale Ale, 3 Stars Peppercorn Saison and Devils Backbone’s Vienna Lager, at prices that are unheard of almost anywhere else in the city. Pair this with some late-night bocce ($4 per person, per hour after 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday) and you’ve got a pretty solid and affordable night of entertainment.
That’s not to say the place is perfect: The bar area is so blandly beige that it feels like a hotel lobby, and the cocktail menu is full of “handcrafted” chocolate martinis and red appletinis. (Also, bocce costs $10 per person per hour on Friday and Saturday? Ouch.) But for cheap beer and an excellent indoor bocce court, it’s worth a visit tonight.
