By now, everyone in Washington knows what to expect when a major snowstorm arrives: Most museums and major attractions will close. Restaurants and bars will attempt to make the most of your snow day with food and drink specials. There will be a snowball fight in Dupont Circle. on the National Mall (Update: Now in Ballston, too!)

We'll be keeping track of what you can and cannot do with your yet another D.C. snow day. Word of warning: Even if a bar says it will be open, it's worth calling before you head out. During last month's storms, some restaurants and bars initially announced that they'd open despite the weather, only to change their decision after icy conditions made it difficult for employees to get to and from work. (This time may be even trickier, due to Metro's decision to suspend bus service on Monday.)

If you want to see your special listed here, e-mail goingoutguide@washpost.com.

What's closed or canceled?

• All Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo, except for the National Air and Space Museum. It's not because the Smithsonian is on the "Gravity" bandwagon after that film won seven Academy Awards on Sunday night:

• Almost every other museum in the area is closed because of the storm, including the National Gallery of Art, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, the National Building Museum, the Newseum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Ford's Theatre, National Georgraphic and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
