I have tickets to a show at Echostage, but I have no idea where it is.
Echostage -- one of the biggest clubs in the region, with a capacity of 6,000 – is located on Queens Chapel Road in Northeast D.C., just north of the intersection of New York Avenue and Bladensburg Road.
So how do I get there?
Take a cab or get an Uber.
Take a cab or get an Uber. It's easiest that way.
But I want to drive.
Fine. There are a number of parking lots near Echostage. The club’s Web site has a map showing where they are, how many spaces they have and how much parking costs. The numbers can vary. For example: If you want to park across from Echostage – next to the Stadium Club – there’s a lot with 75 spots for $30 each. If you don’t mind parking several blocks away – say, in the 120 spaces on New York Avenue across from the Salvation Army, or the 60-space lot up Bladensburg Road across from the Metrobus garage – you'll only pay $10.
Can I take the Metro?
Yes, you can. The club runs a free shuttle bus from the NoMa-Gallaudet Station, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (You can catch it near the M Street NE exit.) The last shuttle leaves the club for the Metro Station at 2:30 a.m. The caveat here is that there's one shuttle, which continually moves between the station and the club, so there's no set schedule for arrival times. If you miss a shuttle, you’re going to be standing around waiting for the next one to arrive, whenever that might be.
Is there a coat check?
Yes, and it costs $5 per item, but it can be madness at the end of the night.
What time does the show start?
Echostage generally posts set times on its Facebook page the day of the concert.
How do I get home?
You can take the club's free shuttle back to Metro (see above) any time before 2:30 a.m. You can find cabs outside the club on Queens Chapel Road, but not the volume you’d find on U Street or 14th Street, and you're competing with hundreds of people to flag one. We recommend using a ride-ordering app, such as Uber, Hailo or Mytaxi, if you need a lift.
