Nine things to do in the D.C. area on the weekend of April 3-6

April 3

The weekend’s best in nightlife, music and art. For more, check out Nightlife Agenda

(Tracy A. Woodward/The Washington Post)

Through Sunday: Five actors play all nine Supreme Court justices in Elevator Repair Service's "Arguendo" at Woolly Mammoth. The play, The play is a fanciful reenactment of the 1991 First Amendment case Barnes vs. Glen Theatre, in which a group of exotic dancers challenged a statewide ban on public nudity that required them to wear pasties and a g-string while performing. Tip: If you haven't seen "Hair," which is referenced in this show, you might want to head over to Keegan Theatre for a double feature of sorts. Incidentally, both shows might be the nakedest D.C. theatrical productions of the year.

Thursday-Tuesday: The Washington Post's annual Beer Madness tournament is ongoing, and now's your chance to decide which brews make it to the Final Four. Meridian Pint will allow the public to come in, sample one-ounce pours of the participating beers in each matchup and cast a ballot for their favorite. The schedule:

Thursday: Hop regional final: Troegs Perpetual IPA v. Monocacy Riot Rye
Friday: Fruit/Spice regional final: Victory Swing Saison v. Franklin's Golden Opportunity Blonde Ale
Monday: Crisp regional final: Bluejacket Forbidden Planet Kolsch v. Stillwater Classique
Tuesday: Malt regional final: Devils Backbone Vienna Lager v. AleWerks Tavern Ale

Friday: If your office is abandoned by 1 p.m. Friday, it's a good bet your coworkers are at Nationals Park for the start of baseball season in D.C. The Nationals face the Atlanta Braves this weekend, and tickets to any of the first homestand's games will be hard to come by. If you're planning to be near Nats Park this weekend, there are plenty of options for pre- and post-game entertainment. 1500 S. Capitol St. SE (Metro: Navy Yard). nationals.com

Friday-Sunday: After a successful first outing at Union Market in the winter, the shopping event Thread returns to Union Market with a new batch of retailers that have less to do with fashion than with embracing a fully sartorial lifestyle. If the names Durkl, Sid and Ann Mashburn, Emerson Fry and Maggy Frances mean anything to you, be here Friday from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 1309 Fifth St. NE (Metro: Rhode Island Avenue). unionmarketdc.com/thread.

Saturday: District Flea made such a splash when it arrived from Brooklyn last summer that its original engagement was extended well into fall. The secret's out now, and the market space north of U Street NW is one of the city's best places to stock up on antique and vintage furniture and clothing, not to mention delicious edibles from food vendors, every week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 945 Florida Ave. NW (Metro: U Street). districtflea.com

Saturday: July doesn't have a monopoly on fireworks in this town. The Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival, which takes place from 1 to 8 p.m., includes a craft marketplace, a beer garden, food trucks, cherry blossom games and activities, and live music from military and civilian bands. The fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m. 600-900 Water St. SW (Metro: Waterfront). nationalcherryblossomfestival.org

Saturday: Duke it out with friends and total strangers in honor of International Pillow Fight Day. (It's a thing. Seriously.) The host, Capital Improv, stresses the importance of keeping the "prank" element of the fight alive by hiding all pillows until the fight begins. And the fight's not without rules: kids are advised to fight outside of the main group, down pillows are forbidden and guests should swing lightly and refrain from hitting people with cameras or without pillows. 2 to 4 p.m. Washington Monument grounds, 15th Street and Constitution Avenue NW (Metro: Smithsonian). 2014.pillowfightday.com.

Saturday: The Kennedy Center's ongoing One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide festival brings stars Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte and Jean Grae to the Millennium Stage for "Rock! Like a Girl" at 6 p.m. Also on the bill: Miri Ben-Ari, Ana Tijoux and D.C.'s Be'la Dona. A maximum of two free tickets per person will be distributed at 4:30 p.m. 2700 F St. NW (Metro: Foggy Bottom). kennedy-center.org

Sunday: The fourth season of "Game of Thrones" makes its debut at 9 p.m. If you actually want to watch the show, Little Miss Whiskey’s will show every episode on a six-foot projection screen in the upstairs bar. If you want a taste of the show before then, Thursday brings an official release party for Ommegang's HBO-endorsed Fire & Blood Red Ale at Penn Social, with glassware giveaways, a costume contest and other games, beginning at 6 p.m. Little Miss Whiskey's, 1104 H St. NE. Penn Social, 801 E St. NW (Metro: Gallery Place-Chinatown).
