Today is Equal Pay Day, which draws attention to the fact that, on average, a woman earns 77 cents for every $1 a man earns. Around D.C., a number of businesses are offering 23 percent discounts to women in honor of the occasion. (Please note that the deals are being offered to men, too, to raise awareness and possibly dodge legal challenges.)

• Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) are hosting an Equal Pay Happy Hour at Hank's on the Hill from 6 to 8 p.m. RSVPs are requested.

• Boundary Road is offering 23 percent discounts on drinks (not food) from 11 a.m. until 1:30 a.m.

• All three locations of Pizzeria Paradiso are honoring the discount, but it must be mentioned to the server.

• It's a lovely day for an outdoor happy hour, and Dacha Beer Garden is offering 23 percent off Weihenstephan Pilsner and Hefeweissbier.

• The Ugly Mug has discounts from 9 p.m. until close.

More deals are listed on the Lean In D.C. Web site.
