Tax Day food and drink specials, because this is Washington

This post has been updated, and we will keep updating as we hear of more specials. Know of a tax-day deal that's not listed here? E-mail

None of these places care if you stayed up late last night maximizing your deductions, or filed your 1040 months ago. It's not like the IRS gives you an "I paid taxes" sticker to show your server.

BLT Steak: Take 50 percent off all alcoholic beverages -- cocktails, beer, and wines by the glass or bottle -- all day long.

Boqueria: Ask for the complimentary 1040EZ tequila shot, which seems EZ enough.

Duffy's Irish Pub: Your first beer comes with a free order of tater tots.

Gordon Biersch: All locations of the brewpub chain offer a "Tax Day Relief" combo of a cheeseburger and a half-liter of any house beer for $10.

Jack Rose: Back in 1799, English Prime Minister William Pitt instituted the first graduated income tax to help pay for the looming Napoleonic Wars. This little bit of trivia is why Jack Rose is offering free samples of single-malt whiskies from the English Whisky Company, which boasts that it is "England's first registered whisky distillery." Free tastes will be offered from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the main level, and bartenders will make special cocktails with the English whiskies all night.

Screwtop Wine Bar: Take $10 off any bottle of wine purchased and consumed at the bar.
