World Cup 2014: Where to watch Italy vs. Uruguay

Welcome to Tuesday's edition of our daily 2014 World Cup viewing guide for D.C. Every morning, we'll examine the schedule and suggest where in the Washington area you can watch the best or most interesting match of the day. For more ideas about where to watch particular teams, see our World Cup viewing guide.

The match of the day: Italy vs. Uruguay (noon) will decide which team joins Costa Rica in the knockout round. The teams are level on 3 points; Italy has a better goal difference.

Where to watch: The social and networking group Italians in DC is taking over the entire upstairs of Ri Ra in Georgetown, offering $5 beers and various appetizer specials. Peroni beers cost $4 at Vendetta on H Street NE, where you'll also find $2 sliders and free bocce.

For Uruguay fans, I can't say enough about the chivito deal at Del Campo. The gigantic pile of sliced veal, sausages, steak and fried eggs comes with fries and a beer for $20.14. Matches are shown on multiple TVs in the bar area.

World Cup leftovers: If you work downtown, you might want to keep a soccer jersey at your desk, even if your team isn't playing. For the rest of the tournament, Shake Shack will offer a free cup of frozen custard to anyone who comes in wearing any team's jersey while the World Cup is on TV.

Also on TV today:  Costa Rica vs. England (noon), Greece vs. Ivory Coast (4 p.m.), Japan vs. Colombia (4 p.m.)
