The economy is recovering, but it’s nowhere close to fully healed after the worst recession since the Great Depression. In most counties around the country, the unemployment rate remains above pre-recession levels, while wages are stagnant for much, if not most, of the workforce. The Dow Jones Industrial Average may be feeling the recovery, but the average American isn’t.
