All of the speculation surrounding Brandon Banks and his future here in the nation’s capital were put to bed last evening.
How is Brandon’s knee? Will he be able to get back in time to fight for his job?
Has Terence Austin unseated Banks with his strong performances in preseason?
Can Banks make this team just being a specialist?
The answers were evident when Banks showed everyone why he is the league’s littlest big man in emphatic fashion with a 95-yard punt return.
His explosive unafraid style of returning punts is rivaled by only a few in the game.
That punt return shut down every debate about his spot on this team — although his premature celebration put the score in jeopardy.
His timing for scoring that touchdown was perfect. In my honest opinion he had to do something special last night to make this 53 man roster, and he did just that.
What’s even more amazing is that with the bothered knee and questions about if he was needed with the new kicking rules, this guy still found a way to answer all of his critics, including me.
Good job Brandon Banks — talk about making a play in the clutch!
