Virginia Tech redshirt junior Andrew Miller was named to the Rimington Award watch list Tuesday, joining four other Hokies who have garnered preseason accolades this week. The Rimington Award is given out annually to college football’s top center.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Miller started all 14 games last year despite some nagging injuries, playing 900 snaps at center. He is the only returning starter on the Hokies’ offensive line this season.
This spring, Miller earned the team’s President’s Award as the offensive player that showed the most leadership during workouts.
Virginia Tech’s Jake Grove previously won the Rimington award in 2003.
