Virginia Tech spring practice cumulative statistics

With the annual spring game scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, there are just two practices left before Virginia Tech’s football team breaks for the summer.

So with that in mind, what better time to take a look at the depth chart and tally up the statistics from the four previous scrimmages this spring for players who will likely have pivotal roles once the fall arrives.

The order players are listed is based on their presumed spot on the depth chart, which is gathered from scrimmage observations and position coach interviews.

QUARTERBACKS

Logan Thomas: 29 of 53 for 499 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT; 15 rushes, 27 yards

JuJu Clayton: 12 of 25 for 91 yards, 2 INTs

Mark Leal: 14 of 32 for 198 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; 9 rushes, 29 yards

RUNNING BACKS

David Wilson: 15 rushes, 113 yards, 3 TDs; 2 catches, 32 yards

Josh Oglesby: 25 rushes, 67 yards; 1 catch, 2 yards

James Hopper: 24 rushes, 38 yards

Daniel Dyer: 18 rushes, 97 yards; 2 catches, 5 yards

FULLBACKS

Joey Phillips: 2 catches, 22 yards

Martin Scales: 1 catch, 7 yards; 1 rush, 2 yards
