A disabled Foreign Service officer; indy voters; a ‘gracious’ concession from Allen West (read-this roundup)

So long, Rep. Allen West. (Harry Hamburg - AP)
Here’s what the Loop is reading this morning:

Challenge at State — A disabled Foreign Service officer forced into retirement sues the State Department.

Independent streak — Those vaunted independent voters wound up not being so crucial after all, reports our pal, the Fact Checker.

That’s ‘gracious’? — Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) finally concedes to Democrat Patrick Murphy. West released a statement parsing the results and saying election officials’ actions “rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters.” Murphy then praised his “gracious concession.” Hmm.

Bald-face truth — The spokesmen for the RNC and DNC plan to shave their heads in a bet-turned-stunt for charity.
