Ann Romney wins Loop Quote of the Week

Finally, someone had the guts to stand up to those carping, defeatist, weak-kneed Republicans and conservative pundits who criticized GOP standard-bearer Mitt Romney for a few — okay, a bunch of — errant lines to wealthy contributers way back in May.

So this week’s Loop Quote of the Week goes to Ann Romney, who laid into those nattering nabobs of negativism:

“Stop it. This is hard,” she said in an interview Thursday on Radio Iowa . “You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard .”

The full-throated defense came after she was asked about comments by former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan and Weekly Standard editor William Kristol.

Kristol was especially harsh, calling Mitt Romney’s observations about the moocher 47 percent of the country “arrogant and stupid.”

“It is time for all Americans to realize,” Ann Romney added, “how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience” running for president.

The critics may be thinking it’s Obama who’s realizing how lucky he is.
