Everyone’s a winner in the veep debate; DOJ mum on pot; and the CIA goes Hollywood (read-this roundup)

(Rick Wilkins - AP)
Here’s what the Loop is reading Friday morning:

Debating the debate — Thursday night’s vice presidential debate is like elementary school soccer: Everyone’s a winner — or at least no one’s a loser. Polls are mixed. And in case you missed it, here’s our transcript.

Mum on pot — The Justice Department is mum on marijuana ballot initiatives, leading some to say that amounts to “tacit acceptance” of the pro-pot measures.

Hollywood meets Washington — The two power towns had a mixer Thursday night at a fete for the movie “Argo.” On hand were Tony Mendez, the real-life CIA agent who inspired the flick, plus Ben Affleck — who plays the spy — and lots of other boldfacers like actor John Goodman, CIA chief David Petraeus, and Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin (“who facilitated the movie’s filming at the State Department”).
