Gore finds it’s easy being green; will women change the debate dynamics?; and new whistleblower rules (read-this roundup)

(Melina Mara - The Washington Post)
Here’s what the Loop is reading Thursday morning:

Second act — Al Gore was promoting the “right cause at the perfect time” — his interest in green energy has paid off for him, both in his national profile and in his bank account.

A woman’s touch — Will having a woman in the moderator’s chair change the dynamics of the debates?

You know how to whistle, don’t you? — President Obama issued an order extending whistleblower protections to national security and intelligence employees.

Still number one — Even though the Veep candidates take the stage, it will still be all about the top of the ticket.
