In this country’s troubling times (the Kardashian breakup, allegations of sexual harassment swirling around the GOP primary race), it’s hard to be optimistic about our future.
Enter the U.S. House of Representatives, which is offering a slate of events this week certain to restore our faith in America — or at least in American branding.
These feel-good measures will have even the most cynical chanting, “USA, USA . . .”
Our favorite among them is the expected House vote Tuesday on a bill reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the country’s “official motto.” The bill also encourages the display of said motto on all public buildings.
It’s just what we needed.
Now, we’re just waiting for the House to announce that it’s voting on the Apple Pie Act of 2011.
