Moynihan alums throw fundraiser/reunion

Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s staff is a notoriously tight-knit bunch. (Ray Lustig - The Washington Post)
Some alumni clubs of staffers for Members of Congress function a bit like the mafia — in that they like to keep things “in the family.”

This cycle, two former staffers to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) are running for Congress in New York: former representative Dan Maffei and Rep. Kathy Hochul. So a group of fellow Moynihan-ers — a notoriously tight-knit group — are throwing them a fundraiser tonight. And they’re holding it at Aria restaurant, we hear, because it offers a view of Daniel Patrick Moynihan Place — a portion of Woodrow Wilson Plaza along the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

And in case that wasn’t enough Moynihanian atmosphere, his widow, Elizabeth, and daughter, Maura, are slated to attend.
