Not that we didn’t know this already, but we’re getting reminders that Loop readers are some smart and funny folks.
We’ve gotten more than 250 responses to our Loop contest, in which we’re asking readers to submit their ideas for what phrase President Obama will be known for (think Reagan’s “Tear down this wall” or JFK’s “Ask not”).
And please don’t forget that this contest is a two-parter: The first part is the question of which phrase that Obama has already said is likely to stick around. The second part asks what he should say that history might remember.
We’ve gotten lots of entries for the first part but fewer for the second ... so put on your speechwriter hats and dream up some soaring language that will have Obama’s writing team taking notes.
The contest deadline is Nov. 14, so there’s still time, but remember, if we get multiple submissions for the same phrase, the prize will go to the first one in the door (so get those submissions in!). And as if the glory of a Loop contest win isn’t motivation enough, there’s the prize: a coveted Loop T-shirt.
