A Capitol return? — Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. might be returning to work this week after a month’s hospitalization for depression. The Illinois Democrat is back in Washington, but hasn’t said whether he’ll be back in the Capitol.
Behind the scenes fretting — More on the tense negotiations that led to the debt deal last year. According to an excerpt from Bob Woodward’s newest book, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner worried that the impact of allowing the United States to default would be catastrophic. Effects would be “indelible, incurable. It would last for generations,” he said.
