Arlen Specter: Ted Kennedy a ‘walrus;’ Thune a ‘movie star in or out of clothes’

Sen. John Thune: Specter says he looks like a a movie star. (T.J. Kirkpatrick - GETTY IMAGES) There’s even more hotness than we previously reported in the new book by former senator Arlen Specter, including more dish from the Senate gym.

— “It was in the whirlpool at the Senate gym in 2008. . .when Ted Kennedy came over and climbed into the bath. Kennedy was one of the Senate’s giants, in many ways. It was as though a giant walrus had plunged into the sea, causing the level to swell.” Swell!

— From p. 226, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) is a bit of a workout bunny. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) likes the bikes, and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) spent a lot of time on the treadmill, making great time. Weirdest? Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.): “John Thune, who looked like a movie star in or out of clothes, was constantly stretching. His lanky body seemed to have some kinks to iron out.” Kinky!
