Tricky timing — With the holidays, the “fiscal cliff” looming, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s stomach bug, and the Newtown killings, it’s been tricky for the White House to determine when to announce any new Cabinet posts — but it looks like the announcement of Clinton’s replacement and a new Secretary of Defense could come on Friday.

Flashback — And speaking of new Cabinet-dwellers, concern over the optics of appointing two white dudes is giving our pal the Fact Checker a case of deja vu all over again.
