With the Conservative Political Action Conference confab in full swing, the competition was steep for the Loop Quote of the Week. But Donald Trump won hands down when, in comparing President Obama to President Carter, the bombastic wannabe politician killed off the 39th U.S. president.
“We’re getting into Jimmy Carter territory,” Trump told the conservative crowd. “I never thought I’d see something like that again. I lived through that time, it was not a good time, and we’re pretty close, I think maybe by next month we will have surpassed the late, great Jimmy Carter.”
Carter, at 89, is very much alive.
