Documentary filmmaker spends nearly 10 years tracking 9-11 victims in ‘Rebirth’

The afternoon pick-u-up is here to get you through those last few hours of your Monday.

In what is sure to be a year filled with documentaries and TV specials to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, one film, in particular, stands out.

In his documentary “Rebirth,” director Jim Whitaker spends close to 10 years following people who were affected by the 9-11 and tracks their decade-long transformation. The film also documents the evolution of Ground Zero with multi-camera, time-lapse photography. Since 2002, there have been six to 14 cameras around the site.

The documentary hits select theaters in late August and will be released to DVD Sept. 6.
