This one-wheeled ‘microcycle’ balances itself as you ride it

If a Segway wasn’t cool enough for you, this self-balancing electric “microcycle” might be for you. Ryno Motors has started accepting pre-orders for the bikes, which can travel up to 10 miles without being recharged.

Ryno Motors bills the microcycle as the vehicle for city residents who want the ease of a bike and style of a motorcycle. You’ll pay a stiff premium for that style, with an expected price of $5,295. The Ryno has a top speed of 10 mph and is designed to be used on sidewalks, in buildings and be carried onto elevators. The microcycle is expected to be shipped in the fall of 2014.

It’s basically a powered unicycle without the challenge of having to balance. While I’ll be sticking with my bike for city errands, this looks perfect for Gob Bluth.

*This post has been updated to reflect that the Ryno goes 10 mile on a charge depending on riding style and conditions, not 30.
