Barcelona’s jerseys to feature an ad, on the inside

Marketers are constantly looking for new ways to get their brands in front of audiences. Intel and the Spanish soccer team FC Barcelona have teamed up with a clever approach that will debut Saturday.

An “Intel Inside” logo will be placed on the inside of jerseys. For the most part this ad will never be visible. But if a player scores a goal and lifts his jersey partially over his head, the ad will enjoy prime real estate. Given how often goals and goal celebration are re-watched by fans, the ad might actually get a lot of mileage. But all that hinges on how a player chooses to celebrate.

Forbes reports that Intel is paying $25 million over five years. We’re sure they’re hoping for a lot of goals.
