A striking photo of Saturn

I’ve had a soft spot for photos of Saturn in the past. Here’s another good one. It was taken in late November and released Monday:

This image of Saturn was taken with the Cassini spacecraft wide-angle camera. This view looks toward the sunlit side of the rings from about 43 degrees above the ringplane. The view was obtained at a distance of approximately 1.6 million miles (2.5 million kilometers) from Saturn. The mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. (Reuters/NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute)
