2013 Infiniti M35h: Test Car Gallery

Cars.com reviewer Kristen Varela called her 2013 Infiniti M35h test car "the least hybrid-like hybrid" she's ever driven. Varela found it so smooth and comfortable, powerful, yet efficient, that she could see herself forgetting that the rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan she was driving was a hybrid. Indeed, the 360-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6/lithium-ion battery combo, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, places it between the gas-only V-6 and V-8 versions, but with substantially greater fuel economy than either at an estimated 27/32 mpg city/highway; that's in addition to a combined 457 pounds-feet of torque between the engine and battery.

Luxury appointments that came standard on the Malbec Black test car with Stone interior included eight-way adjustable, climate-controlled leather seats; driver and passenger power lumbar support; front door-handle courtesy lights and sequential welcome lighting; entry and exit assist for the driver; a power sliding, tinted moonroof; a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel; a dual-occupant memory system for the driver seat, steering wheel, outside mirrors, climate control and audio setting linked to intelligent keys; and dual-zone automatic temperature control. The test car's standard tech features included a pedestrian sound-warning system, backup camera, active noise control, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, rain-sensing windshield wipers, xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights and power-folding/auto-dimming outside mirrors. All of those features were included in the base price of $55,095, including an $895 destination charge.

The $3,050 optional Technology Package added blind spot monitoring and intervention, lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent cruise control, distance control assist and intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning. The $3,900 Deluxe Touring Package added Japanese White Ash wood trim with silver-powder accents, a suedelike headliner, soft double-stitched meter hood and a power rear sunshade. And, finally, the $4,200 Premium Package added navigation, an 8-inch color touch-screen, voice recognition, traffic and weather info, a rear sonar system, a premium Bose audio system and a heated steering wheel.
