Volkswagen is recalling 46 model-year 2012 versions of the Beetle compact coupe because they may be equipped with incorrect tires, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The affected vehicles use summer tires that do not conform to federal standards. Incorrect tires could increase the risk of an accident.
Volkswagen will notify owners starting in September, and dealers will replace the affected tires free of charge. Owners can call Volkswagen at 800-822-8987 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more info.
