Exporting from the Midwest

Tomorrow, we will be convening again to discuss small businesses and exporting. At 8:30 a.m., I will be in Chicago talking with Julie Carducci of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Frank Lavin, the former Under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commere and currently of Export Now, and Tony Hoti, a small business owner and successful exporter. At 9:15 a.m. Michael Howard of the Export-Import Bank, John Nevell of the Chicago Export Assistance Center and Terry LaRocca with the State of Illinois will give practical advice to business executives interested in selling their products or services overseas.

These experts will speak to an audience of small business owners about starting their exporting initiatives. In addition, they will talk to current exporters about how to pick which countries to market to and how to join the global marketplace. We will be livestreaming the Exporting for Growth breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. on washingtonpostlive.com.
