Revisiting The Washington Post circa 1974

News that Jeffrey P. Bezos is purchasing The Washington Post sparked a seemingly endless flood of reactions, open letters and speculation (so, so much speculation). It also prompted discussions of The Post’s significance, the Graham family and the paper’s storied history.

With this in mind, CBS News posted a 60 Minutes segment about The Post that originally aired in 1974. Mike Wallace went inside the Watergate-era newsroom to find out about the paper and the people running it. The footage above provides a look at editor Benjamin C. Bradlee, publisher Katharine Graham and others.
